Great draft, now we prepare for the season to kick off!

Thanks all for not only doing the online draft, but sticking through for all 24 picks!  Was quite fun and really interesting to see where everyone went.  Now we move on to our final pre-season steps. 

First things first, please come up with a team name and you can choose a stadium as well (that won't affect gameplay, but it does show a pretty picture of your field with all of the other stats).   You can also add a manager who will show up in the game stories. 

Also, if you want to pick up players, drop others, maybe work out a trade, just post a message on this site, or send me an email at pjallie2@aol.com.  Waiver claims are first come, first served. 

I will run the first set of 10 games Tuesday night, so please have at least a team name by then, and send me any Computer Manager updates by then.  I will try to run 10 days of games every couple of days or so.  Expect this simulation to take 5-6 weeks or so.  We will have injuries turned on, and the  computer simulation will move backups in periodically to simulate a real team.   

 

I've set up links to both your roster and the current computer manager.  The computer managers are generally good and your team will be OK with them, but there is plenty you can do to customize and hopefully improve the manager file as the season goes on.  They are all optional, you don't have to do it, but here is a quick summary of what you can change. 

 

-Basic righty and lefty lineups 

-Four or five man starting rotation
-Setup pitcher vs. lefty and righty
-Setup closer vs. lefty and righty
-Pinchrunner
-Defensive replacements (like put Joe Smith in CF if winning late in a game)
-Base stealing - extra conservative, conservative, normal, aggressive, extra aggressive
-Base running - - extra conservative, conservative, normal, aggressive, extra aggressive
-Hit and run - - extra conservative, conservative, normal, aggressive, extra aggressive
-Use relief - - deadball style, extra conservative, conservative, normal, aggressive, extra aggressive, extreme aggressive
-Closer usage - regular, maximize
-Intentional bb - - extra conservative, conservative, normal, aggressive, extra aggressive
-Infield in - 1, 2, 3,4 5 inning
-Hold - minimum steal percentage 0-100 by 5's
-Hold - minimum lead percentage 0-100 by 5's
-Hold Always*  yes or no ( should always be YES!!!)
-Minimum % to steal percentage 0-100 by 5
Again, these are all optional, just let me know if you have questions.  Lineups and rotations are the key things, but the others are there if you are really into it. 

Oh, and I highly encourage you to follow the league by email (the first box on the right hand side of the league web site).  Just enter your email there, and you will get notified when new posts are entered .  Feel free to put your own posts on here as well, this is intended to be fun and the more you get involved, the more fun you will have! 

 

And finally, the top two teams in each divisions will make the playoffs, which are all seven game series.  Head to head record would settle any ties in the final regular season standings.
