Yukon wins an exciting World Series!

The World Series between the Backwoods Bastards and the Yukon Polar Bears was a tremendous and hard-fought battle!

The Mule comes through again for the Bastards

Game 1:  Randy Johnson gets the Bastards off to a good start by whiffing 11 Polar Bears and holding the potent Yukon attack to just 3 runs.  Mule Suttles provides the offensive fireworks for Backwoods, going 4 for 5 with a homer, 2 runs and 5 RBIs.  Final is 9-3 Bastards.  Christy Mathewson takes the loss.

Game 2:  Yukon answers back with some late offense (3 runs in the 7th, 4 in the 8th) to take the second game 10-4.  Turkey Stearnes and Martin Dihigo both go yard, and Paul Waner and Biz Mackey add two hits apiece.  All Polar Bear batsmen got at least 1 hit.  Three Finger Brown goes the distance for Yukon.  Series is tied 1-1.

Game 3:  Pie Traynor broke open a close game with a sixth-inning two-run homer off of Carl Hubbell to send Backwoods to victory, 5-3, over the Polar Bears.  Traynor had 3 hits for the Bastards, and Oscar Charleston added two hits.  Big Bill Foster got the win, and John Clarkson the save, Bastards go up 2-1 for the Series.

Game 4:  Yukon comes back with an offensive onslaught, getting 4 hits from Honus Wagner and 3 RBIs from Mike Piazza to trounce Backwoods 8-4.  Christy Mathewson was generous, allowing at least one hit to every Bastard except for Luis Santop, but limited the number of runs to earn the victory.  Series is now 2-2.

Don Sutton is congratulated on his big win by super-fan
and singer of the big hit "Muskrat Love" Toni Tennille.
  No sign of the Captain!

Game 5:  Backwoods blasts Three Finger Brown, racking up 8 runs and 12 hits as they roar to an 8-3 win over Yukon.  Another big game from Pie Traynor (3 for 5), and the Bastards got home runs from Hank Aaron, Mule Suttles, and Travis Jackson.  Don Sutton holds the Polar Bears to just 8 hits, two from Honus Wagner and two from George Davis.  Backwoods takes a 3-2 lead and is now just one win away from the title!

Game 6:  Yukon has their backs against the wall, and respond with a magnificent outing from Carl Hubbell.  The master of the screwball blanks the Bastards, spreading seven hits and not allowing a single run.  Cristobel Torriente singled in pinch-runner Martin Dihigo in the fourth, giving the Polar Bears just enough to win the game 1-0.  The Series is tied, we go to a Game 7 in the Yukon!

Game 7:  Yukon runs away with the deciding game, 6-1.  Randy Johnson and Christy Mathewson faced off in this final game of the year.  The Big Unit vs Big Six!  It was no contest, however, as Mathewson scattered seven singles and limited the Bastards to just 1 run.  Randy Johnson racked up 9 K's, but was tagged for all six runs.  Honus Wagner, George Sisler, Martin Dihigo, and Biz Mackey all had two hits for the Polar Bears.

What a great and fun season, thanks to all of you for playing!!!  Looking forward to another Retro League next year!

National League Champions: Yukon sweeps Bad Axe!

Yukon's mighty Polar Bears roar past the Bad Axe Lumberjacks, saving their best baseball for the post-season

You can see the boxscores by clicking on the Game number below.  These games were played live in Toledo this weekend, but there was one game that was accidentally simulatedat the start, throwing off the won-loss records in the box-score.

Game 1:  A pitchers duel between Yukon's Christy Mathewson and Bad Axe's Smokey Joe Williams starts this series off.  A Cristobel Torriente home run and hits by Paul Waner and Biz Mackey brought in a total of 3 Polar Bear runs off of Smokey Joe.  Christy "Big Six" Mathewson holds the Lumberjacks to just two runs, spacing out seven hits.  Yukon takes a 1-0 lead in the series.

Game 2: Yukon gets to Bob Gibson in the middle innings, putting up 9 runs on 17 hits.  Jud Wilson is 3 for 4 with a homer and 4 RBIs.  Martin Dihigo has 3 hits, while Turkey Stearnes, George Sisler, Paul Waner, and George Davis each added 2 hits.  Three Finger Brown provides the pitching, holding Bad Axe to 5 runs.  George Kell collected three hits for the Lumberjacks. Yukon wins two on the road and heads pack to the Great White North.

Game 3:  Carl Hubbell has his screwball really moving in the harsh temperature and strong winds of the Yukon.  He shuts out Bad Axe, only allowing six hits.  The Flying Dutchman, Honus Wagner is 4 for 5 with 5 RBIs for Yukon.  George Sisler and Red Schoendienst contribute two hits.  Final is 8-0, Yukon now leads the series 3 games to 0.

Game 4:  Cy Young Award winner Smokey Joe Williams looked more like Shakey Joe Williams this game, allowing 17 hits through eight innings,  but he was able to limit the damage to just four runs.  Christy Mathewson was tagged for home runs by Jimmie Foxx and Kirby Puckett, and this one was tied 4-4 going into the bottom of the 9th.  Smokey Joe allowed a single to Cristobel Torriente, another to Jud Wilson, and finally a walk-off single to Paul Waner, Yukons wins the game 5-4 and the series 4-0!

Congrats to the National League Champion Yukon Polar Bears, and congrats to Mike Walter and his Bad Axe Lumberjacks for a great season!

Days 161-168: Yukon and Bad Axe end up in a tie in the National League!!!!

Vermont and Backwoods have clinched their spots in the playoffs as expected, and Yukon and Bad Axe finalized their spots as well but in a rather unexpected and dramatic fashion.  They tie for first, finishing with the same 87-75 record!

Had to edit this as I originally had the playoff matchups wrong.  We had talked at the beginning about the top two in each league playing for the League title then facing the other League Champion.  So, it is Vermont (with the home field advantage) facing Backwoods in one division, and Bad Axe (with the home field advantage)  facing Yukon in the other.  Both winners will compete in the 2017 Carr Hall Of Fame World Series.  Managers of the playoff teams can send me a preferred rotation if they wish, otherwise will do the following...

Game 1 - Computer Manager Listed Starter #1
Game 2 - Computer Manager Listed Starter #2
Game 3 - Computer Manager Listed Starter #3
Game 4 - Computer Manager Listed Starter #1
Game 5 -Computer Manager Listed  Starter #2
Game 6 - Computer Manager Listed Starter #3
Game 7 -Computer Manager Listed  Starter #1

Will try to run these series over the coming weekend.  Good luck to all playoff teams, and thanks to all for drafting and following along this season!!!

Days 151-160: Vermont clinches the American League title! Bad Axe finally on top of the mountain in the National League!

Bernie finally tastes victory!
Bernie Sanders may not have won the Democratic nomination for the Presidency, but he has now won something bigger and more important - the American League title!  The Socialists wrapped the title up in the final game of this set and are now playing out the string to see who they face from the National League.  The   Backwoods Bastards remain in second, six games ahead of Aliquippa for the final playoff spot.

Speaking of the National League, Bad Axe has been chasing Yukon all season long, and finally got them this set of games.  The Lumberjacks go 7-3, best record in the league for these last 10 games, and they now sit one full game atop the Polar Bears of the Yukon.  Pohdunkville went 5-5 to still maintain a mathematical chance at a playoff spot but time is running out on the Pounders.  Only eight days remain in the season (and I will likely play those Thursday).

Jackie Robinson shows off his coveted
Player of The Block award

Jackie Robinson of Backwoods earns one of our two Player of the Set awards, hitting 12 for 23 (.522 average), with 3 HRs, 5 walks, and 8 RBIs.  Grover Cleveland Alexander of Aliquippa has struggled mightily this season, but rebounds nicely this set with 2 wins, 20 innings pitched, 9 K's, and only 5 runs allowed.  Fellow hurlers Old Hoss Radbourn, Dazzy Vance, and Jose Mendez also recorded two wins this set.

Aliquippa's Grover Cleveland Alexander back on track!

Bullet Joe Rogan has put a bullet hole into Pottersville's season, losing three games just over the last 10 games. allowing 21 runs and 31 hits over 21 innings.  Martin Dihigo has been a bright spot for the Polar Bears all season, but slid here with just 2 hits in his last 24 at bats (.083 average).  As our President would tweet "Very overrated.  Sad"

Days 141-150: A new challenger rises in the National League! Only 18 days remain in the season!

The American League race was once incredibly close, but Vermont and Backwoods continue to outpace the others in their league.  Vermont is now eight games ahead over Backwoods, and the Bastards are seven games over third place Aliquippa.  Mar-a-Lago and Pottersville are a few games even further away than the Beavers.

The National League has taken a turn for the dramatic, as the Pohdunkville Pounders made an 8-2 record this week to rise to third in the standings.  Yukon still leads, by one game over arch-rival Bad Axe, but the Pounders have forced themselves into the conversation this week and are four games behind the Lumberjacks.

In the individual races, Mar-a-Lago CF Ty Cobb has lifted his batting average to  .379, far above Verona Ridge's Tris Speaker.  Cobb is also leading in stolen bases, with 57, ahead of teammate Eddie Collins and his 47 swiped bags.  Vermont's Sultan of Swat continues to lead teammate Eddie Mathews in home runs (52-45) and RBIs (136-116).  Smokey Joe Williams of Bad Axe continues to lead in wins (21) and ERA (3.16).  Goose Gossage of Verona Ridge has almost mathematically clinched the Rolaids Relief Award already, racking up 30 saves to rank far above Pottersville's Bob Feller (who has 14).

The powerful swing of Mickey Mantle
This set featured tremendous performances from previous Players of the Block Josh Gibson (.395, 6 HRs, 15 RBIs), Oscar Charleston (.480, 12 hits, 3 HRs), and Smokey Joe Williams (2 wins, 18 IP, 15 K's, 4 earned runs), but I try to award it to someone new when I can and so we hereby declare Windy City's Mickey Mantle the Player of this block!  The Mick was 9 for 24 (.375) with 4 HRs and 13 RBIs.

The Mick's and his number Seven still
have cachet up the ying-yang!

Rube Marquard of Mar-a-Lago was pitching at an All Star level most of the season, but stumbled here with two wretched outings (12 IP, 22 hits, 16 earned runs allowed).  Dave Winfield of Verona Ridge was 2 for 28 (.071) with 0 HRs or RBIs.  Backwoods SS Travis Jackson only hit .074.

The Rube trying to figure out how
it went so terribly wrong

Steinbrenner is pissed as "Whiny" Winfield looks
at another strike three!

Day 141:  Smokey Joe Williams is the first to reach 20 wins this season, shutting out Verona Ridge in a 2-0 game.  More great pitching as Don Drysdale of Pohdunkville throws a two-hit shutout in Pottersville.  Ty Cobb and Roy Campanella both go yard in Mar-a-Lago's 4-3 win over Backwoods.  Babe Ruth hits his 50th homer to help push Vermont over Windy City 7-4.  Aliquippa outlasts Yukon 3-2, winning on a walk-off Hughie Jennings single in the 10th.   Eee-yah, Hughie!!!

Day 142:   Pud Galvin had a no-hitter going through five innings, but settles for the shutout as Vermont beats Windy City 5-0.  Aliquippa puts up 5 in the bottom of the 8th to top Yukon 10-5.  Mar-a-Lago and Backwoods each put up 15 base hits, but the Misogynists outscored the Bastards 10-7.  Another big game from Ken Griffey Jr., who singled, doubled, and homered.  Bad Axe goes over Verona Ridge 5-2, Mickey Cochrane gets three hits and three runs scored.  Dave Bancroft added two hits, prodding an ounce of respect from Jimmie Foxx.  Josh Gibson of Pohdunkville cranks 3 HRs to join a very small and select group of Hall of Famers this year to get three in a game.  Pounders all over the Misers 14-5.

Day 143:   Mar-a-Lago's Ivanka Trump seems to be pushing the right buttons as the Misogynists win their fourth in a row, 12-8 over Backwoods.  Roy Campanella hit two homers and drove in 4 runs.  Windy City catcher Carlton Fisk hits 2 homer  of his own in a 9-3 Doobies romp over the Socialists.  Bad Axe tops Verona Ridge 4-3, rallying for two runs in the top of the 9th behind hits from the suddenly hot Dave Bancroft, Lou Gehrig, and Chick Hafey.  Grover Cleveland Alexander and his Beavers gets a narrow 3-2 win over Yukon.  The Pounders got a two run homer from Reggie Jackson to overtake Pottersville 5-4.

Day 144:  Greg Maddux continues his outstanding season for Aliquippa, tossing a 5-hit shutout of Pottersville and moving to 16-7 for the season.  Pohdunkville ripped Vermont 9-1, getting two hits a piece from Nap Lajoie, Josh Gibson, Rod Carew, and Jimmy Collins.  Windy City's Hank Greenberg gets 4 hits in 4 at bats, including his 34th home run, in a 7-3 win over Verona Ridge.

Day 145:  "Sunday Teddy" himself, Ted Lyons of Windy City, blanks Verona Ridge and Al Kaline hits his 20th homer, 2-0 Doobies is your final.  Satchel Paige limited the mighty Vermont offense to just a couple runs and Pohdunville wins 7-2.    Pottersville rallies in the bottom of the 9th to beat Aliquippa 10-9.  The Misers pieced together hits by Mel Ott, Rogers Hornsby, and Kiki Cuyler to win this one.

Day 146:  Vermont's Pud Galvin outduels Don Drysdale of Pohdunkville in a 2-1 nailbiter.  Aliquippa rides a 9th inning Duke Snider two-run homer to a 6-4 win over Pottersville.   Ralph Kiner drives home all three Roadrunner runs in a 3-2 victory over Windy City.

Day 147:  Mar-a-Lago comes back from two restful days off to edge Pottersville 9-6.  Ken Griffey Jr. continued his red-hot second half of the year by clouting homers #33 and #34.  Windy City slugger Mickey Mantle goes deep twice to give Big Ed Walsh all he needed in a 12-0 whitewashing of Yukon.  Pohdunkville continues to climb, topping Aliquippa 7-3 at the Pohdunkville Slophouse, Nap Lajoie had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.  Verona Ridge explodes for 8 in the top of the 7th to roll over Bad Axe 9-6.  Wonder Twins Babe Ruth and Eddie Mathews each homered for Vermont as they eke past Backwoods 8-7.

Days 131-140: Playoff spots taking shape as time begins to get short!

Vermont continued to pull away in the American, winning 6 of 10 games lately, and the Socialists now enjoy a hefty 6.5 game cushion over 2nd place Backwoods.  Everyone else in the American has fallen at least 15 games out of first..  In the National League, Yukon strengthened their lead over Bad Axe by winning 6 games this set while the Lumberjacks could only take 3 games.  Verona Ridge remains in contention, 2.5 games behind Bad Axe.  Both Pohdunkville and Windy City are down, but not out.  They will need to get hot soon, however, if they want to contend for a playoff spot.

Some familiar faces reappear on the "Who's Hot" list.  The best performance was by Vermont's Babe Ruth, who shook off last week's beer-and-fishing-induced haze to clobber pitchers (.475, 6 HRs, 12 RBIs).  Smokey Joe Williams of Bad Axe has been a revelation this season, the little known Negro Leaguer has been a stud all year and continues to lead the league in wins.  The Smokey One picked up 2 wins while only allowing 7 hits and 1 walk in 16 innings to further make his case for the Cy Young Award (at least he is making a stronger case than Cy Young himself!)

Bob Gibson has tailed off after his no-hitter, dropping two decisions and allowing 14 earned runs in just 13 innings.  Pottersville ace Catfish Hunter lost three games this stretch.  Tough week for Detroit Tigers Hall of Famers.  Charlie Gehringer (.144) and Al Kaline (.114) suffered through forgettable weeks.

Day 131:  The Doobies are not packing it in, they win their 5th straight, a 2-1 thriller over the Lumberjacks.  Cal Ripken's homer helped Bert Blyleven pick up the win.  Addie Joss was outstanding on the mound for Mar-a-Lago, 3-1 winners over Verona Ridge.  Pohdunkville turned back Yukon 5-3, Frank Thomas hit his 33rd homer and Josh Gibson connected for his 27th.  In Aliquippa, Big Bill Foster of the Bastards blanked the Beavers on six hits.  Pottersville rallied in the 8th to top Old Hoss and the Socialists 7-5.

Day 132:  Interesting game between Mar-a-Lago and Vermont.  The Misogynists trailed 4-3 entering the top of the 9th.  They rallied for 4 runs though, and looked to Bruce Sutter to close things out.  However, the Socialists pieced together base hits by Bill Dickey, Joe Cronin, Elmer Flick, Charlie Gehringer, and finally Babe Ruth to score 4 of their own and win 8-7.  The Babe had two homers and five RBIs.  The Polar Bears put the hurt on the Doobies, 16-1 to quash their recent winning streak.  George Sisler had 5 hits and 4 RBIs for Yukon.  Kirby Puckett homered and drove in 5 in Bad Axe's 11-1 romp over Verona Ridge.  Surly Jimmie Foxx belted his 40th homer.  Aliquippa and Pottersville engage in a brutal slugfest.  The Misers were cruising with a 9-2 advantage going into the bottom of the 8th when the dam burst and Aliquippa pushed across FIFTEEN runs in that half inning!!!!  Here is the complete description of the Chinese Water Torture inning that the Beavers put the Misers through..

BOT 8- Mays-Do, Snider-G, Stargell-W, Schmidt-Do, Carter-E-SS, Yount-Si
Jennings-Si, Robinson-Tr, Doerr-Si, Mays-Si, Snider-W, Stargell-Si

Day 133:  Verona Ridge trounces Bad Axe 10-3, Dave Winfield was the star with 2 hits and 3 RBIs.  Yukon topped Windy City by the same score of 10-3, Mike Piazza getting 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs.  Polar Bear George Sisler tied the record with 4 stolen bases in that contest.  Ray Brown of Aliquippa outdueled Catfish Hunter of Pottersville in a 2-1 squeaker.  Vermont comes from behind to top Mar-a-Lago 4-3, Early Wynn moves to 10-2 for the season!

Day 136:  Smokey Joe Williams is the first to 19 wins in the league, Bad Axe tops Verona Ridge 3-2.  Windy City puts a pounding on the Pounders, 12-6, as Barry Larkin homers and drives in five.  Vermont beats Yukon 8-2, Pud Galvin gets win #12.  Pottersville slips past Backwoods 5-4, giving Bob "Rapid Robert" Feller his 14th save, best in the league for someone not named Goose.  Game of the day is in Aliquippa as the Beavers top the Misogynists7 -6, with Frankie "The Fordham Flash" Frisch singling in Duke Snider for the walk-off run in the 10th.

Day 137:  Pohdunkville's Harmon Killebrew hits his 36th homer and drives in 4 during a 6-1 Pounder victory over Windy City.  Mar-a-Lago is all over Aliquippa 9-3, Willie Wells hits 2 HRs.  Verona gets three runs in the top of the ninth to overtake Bad Axe 4-3.  Yukon continues to rake, 10 runs and 14 hits, to to Vermont 10-3.  Backwoods easily dispatches Pottersville 8-1, and Randy Johnson sets a new league mark by striking out 17 Miser batters!

Day 138:  Ty Cobb and Dan Brouthers BOTH get five hits for Mar-a-Lago, but it is not enough to beat the Roadrunners, who rally for 4 in the top of the 12th to win 10-6.  Windy City gets a strong start from Jose Mendez to beat Bad Axe 6-2.  Lefty Grove improved his record to 14-5 as Pohdunkville edged Yukon 6-4.  Pottersville scores 4 in the bottom of the 8th to get the come-from-behind 6-5 win over Vermont.  Frank Robinson and Eddie Murray each get 3 hits as Aliquippa beats Backwoods 10-6.

Day 139:  Grover Cleveland Alexander stars in a 5-2 Beaver win over the Bastards.  Windy City starts off with 5 runs in the first, and roll to a 10-8 win over the Lumberjacks.  Vermont gets 2 runs in the top of the 12th to edge Pottersville 6-4.  Arky Vaughan drives in 3 as Pohdunkville tops Yukon 11-6.  Dizzy Dean holds off the Misogynists just enough to earn a 5-4 win for the Roadrunners.  Johnny Bench had 2 hits and 3 RBIs.

Day 140:  Mar-a-Lago's Chief Bender tosses a shutout against Verona Ridge, and Ken Griffey Jr. belts his 31st homer in a 4-0 game.  Christy Mathewson wins his 18th as Yukon gets past Satchel Pagiage and Pohdunkville 6-2.  Windy City gets another win against Bad Axe, 7-5, Hank Greenberg homers and drives in three.  Backwoods edges Aliquippa 6-5, as Beaver hurler Kid Nichols throws a wild pitch, allowing Pie Traynor to come home with the winning run.  Vermont puts on another impressive display of offense as the roll over the Misers 16-9.  Al Simmons had 4 hits, and Babe Ruth hit his league-leading 49th home run of the season.

Days 121-130: Socialists run rampant in the AL, Yukon reclaims first place in the NL

Bernie Sanders has his Vermont Socialists running on all cylinders as they went 9-1 recently and are now enjoying a comfortable 6 game lead in the once-tightly-grouped American League.  The Backwoods Bastards are continuing to find ways to win despite having the second worst run differential in the league (they have scored 58 runs less than they have given up!).  The rest of the league has crumbled, as Pottersville, Aliquippa, and Mar-a-Lago are all now 15 games back.

Yukon went 6-4 but Bad Axe slipped to 4-6, so the Polar Bears are again enjoying a lead in the National.  Verona Ridge remains within striking distance of the Lumberjacks, 4.5 games out of a playoff spot.

Babe Ruth and Eddie Mathews continue to power Vermont, ranking #1 and #2 in the Home Run race with 43 and 40 respectively.  Misogynist CF Ty Cobb continues to hold off Verona's Tris Speaker for the Batting Title, leading at .373 to .368 for Tris.  Smokey Joe Williams has 17 wins, but Mickey Welch (MAR), Christy Mathewson (YUK), and Carl Hubbell (YUK) are right behind him with 16.  Ty Cobb has opened up a 46-40 lead over fellow Misogynist Eddie Collins for the Stolen Base title.
The Backwoods Big Unit, Randy Johnson, is in firm control of the K Crown, with 234 strikeouts, 41 ahead of Windy City's Nolan Ryan.

Big Josh Gibson slugging
six home runs this set!

The very intimidating delivery
of Mar-a-Lago's Mickey Welch

Josh Gibson of Pohdunkville is our Player of the Block, as the burly catcher went 17 for 39, hitting .436, with 6 HRs and 12 RBIs. Mar-a-Lago Mickey Welch was the best pitcher of the Block, with 2 wins, 18 innings pitched, and only 4 earned runs and 11 hits allowed.  Honorable mention to Pohdunkville's Harmon Killebrew (.324, 6 HRs, 12 RBIs).

WHAM!  Another homer!  Harmon Killebrew goes deep again!

As always, some Hall of Famers are not faring as well.  Brooks Robinson of Potterville is hitting .071, just 2 hits in 28 at bats.  Rollie Fingers of Pohdunkville was blasted in 10 horrible innings, allowing 16 runs and 21 hits.

Day 122:  Lefty Grove of Pohdunkville blanks Bad Axe on just two hits.  Drama in Vermont as the Socialists get a walk-off, 10th inning single from Eddie Mathews.  Hank Aaron, very quiet in this replay so far, had 2 hits and 3 RBIs to lift Backwoods over Verona Ridge 8-4.  Yukon rolled over the Doobies 10-1, Turkey Stearnes and Jud Wilson homering.  Misers starter Jim Palmer limited Mar-a-Lago to just 1 run and Zack Wheat drove in 2, Pottersville wins it 3-1.

Day 123:  Vermont wins fifth in a row, 4-3 over Aliquippa.  The Sultan of Swat belted a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th.  This was the Babe's 40th of the season!  Mar-a-Lago stomped Pottersville 8-2.  Willie "Stretch" McCovey's three-run homer keyed a SEVEN run 9th inning for Bad Axe as they overtook Pohdunkville 10-7.  Verona Ridge's Amos Rusie limited Backwoods to just one run and Ryan Sandberg added three hits, two runs, and four RBIs for an 8-2 Misogynist victory.  George Sisler's big day (3-5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs) keyed an 8-3 Yukon win over Windy City.

Day 126:  Aliquippa puts up a four spot on six hits in the top of the 9th to topple Bad Axe 7-5. The Bastards rock the Doobies 15-6, Oscar Charleston has 4 hits, 2 runs, and 4 RBIs.  Pohdunkville's Josh Gibson has 4 hits to back Satchel Paige and give the Pounders the 7-4 win over Mar-a-Lago.  Vermont's Johnny "Big Cat" Mize hits a walk-off single to bring home Eddie Mathews, 4-3 Vermont over Yukon.  More late inning excitement as Verona Ridge puts up 5 in to the top of the 9th to roll 7-2 over the Misers.
