Some familiar faces reappear on the "Who's Hot" list. The best performance was by Vermont's Babe Ruth, who shook off last week's beer-and-fishing-induced haze to clobber pitchers (.475, 6 HRs, 12 RBIs). Smokey Joe Williams of Bad Axe has been a revelation this season, the little known Negro Leaguer has been a stud all year and continues to lead the league in wins. The Smokey One picked up 2 wins while only allowing 7 hits and 1 walk in 16 innings to further make his case for the Cy Young Award (at least he is making a stronger case than Cy Young himself!)
Bob Gibson has tailed off after his no-hitter, dropping two decisions and allowing 14 earned runs in just 13 innings. Pottersville ace Catfish Hunter lost three games this stretch. Tough week for Detroit Tigers Hall of Famers. Charlie Gehringer (.144) and Al Kaline (.114) suffered through forgettable weeks.

Addie Joss was outstanding on the mound for Mar-a-Lago, 3-1 winners over Verona Ridge. Pohdunkville turned back Yukon 5-3, Frank Thomas hit his 33rd homer and Josh Gibson connected for his 27th. In Aliquippa, Big Bill Foster of the Bastards blanked the Beavers on six hits. Pottersville rallied in the 8th to top Old Hoss and the Socialists 7-5.
Day 132: Interesting game between Mar-a-Lago and Vermont. The Misogynists trailed 4-3 entering the top of the 9th. They rallied for 4 runs though, and looked to Bruce Sutter to close things out.
