Days 151-160: Vermont clinches the American League title! Bad Axe finally on top of the mountain in the National League!

Bernie finally tastes victory!
Bernie Sanders may not have won the Democratic nomination for the Presidency, but he has now won something bigger and more important - the American League title!  The Socialists wrapped the title up in the final game of this set and are now playing out the string to see who they face from the National League.  The   Backwoods Bastards remain in second, six games ahead of Aliquippa for the final playoff spot.

Speaking of the National League, Bad Axe has been chasing Yukon all season long, and finally got them this set of games.  The Lumberjacks go 7-3, best record in the league for these last 10 games, and they now sit one full game atop the Polar Bears of the Yukon.  Pohdunkville went 5-5 to still maintain a mathematical chance at a playoff spot but time is running out on the Pounders.  Only eight days remain in the season (and I will likely play those Thursday).

Jackie Robinson shows off his coveted
Player of The Block award

Jackie Robinson of Backwoods earns one of our two Player of the Set awards, hitting 12 for 23 (.522 average), with 3 HRs, 5 walks, and 8 RBIs.  Grover Cleveland Alexander of Aliquippa has struggled mightily this season, but rebounds nicely this set with 2 wins, 20 innings pitched, 9 K's, and only 5 runs allowed.  Fellow hurlers Old Hoss Radbourn, Dazzy Vance, and Jose Mendez also recorded two wins this set.

Aliquippa's Grover Cleveland Alexander back on track!

Bullet Joe Rogan has put a bullet hole into Pottersville's season, losing three games just over the last 10 games. allowing 21 runs and 31 hits over 21 innings.  Martin Dihigo has been a bright spot for the Polar Bears all season, but slid here with just 2 hits in his last 24 at bats (.083 average).  As our President would tweet "Very overrated.  Sad"
